Blue & Gold Models acquires the G&E Models range

For those new to the hobby, G&E Models were the manufacturers of a range of high-quality VR models, including the AV and BV pass cars, CW vans, and an assortment of structures such as railway stations and goods sheds.

After many years in the hobby, they have sold their range to a new start-up called Blue & Gold Models. Until now they have been specialising in scratchbuilding, kitbashing/kitbuilding and weathering of VR models. They plan to re-launch the former G&E range (a lot of which has been unavaliable for several years now) at the Croydon Model Railway Club’s annual exhibition, on the 13th and 14th of September.

It will take some time to get production of the entire range rolling, so until a full production line is set up a limited number items will be available from Branchline, The Buffer Stop and VHC by the end of the year.

The re-launch of the range will herald the arrival of the one-piece VR BCE kit, a completely new kit developed shortly before G&E sold their range.

The former G&E range are all resin kits, some (like the VR brick station building) with etched-brass detail parts. Their range includes APL, BPL, BCPL, AV, BV passenger cars; C, CE, CW, CS/VHN brake vans; and for infrastructure includes a VR brick station, VR 50′ goods shed, VR signal box, yardmasters office, ganger’s shed and rainwater tanks.
